Winter in Alicante is warmer than a British spring, half the price of summer, and gives you the city as locals live it. If your goal is sun, walks and long lunches rather than swimming, November–February is arguably the best time to come.
Daytime 15–20°C (Nov, Feb) and 13–17°C in January. Nights drop to 6–9°C. Rain: a few days a month, rarely heavy.
The sea is 14–16°C — locals don't, but hardy northern Europeans do at Postiguet on sunny days. Bring a wetsuit if you're serious.
The tourist areas are quiet but the city works normally: bars, restaurants, buses, castle all open. It's the best time to see the real Alicante.
