Left luggage in Alicante

Updated 2026-02

Late flight, early checkout, a few hours to kill before the boat to Tabarca — the classic Alicante luggage problem. The city has no large public locker hall, so storage runs through networks of shops, hotels and small businesses that accept bags by the day.

How it works here

Two international networks operate in Alicante, booking space in partner businesses — phone shops, kiosks, hotel receptions. You book online, get an address and a code, drop the bag and pick it up before closing time.

Pricing is per bag per day, roughly comparable between networks, and includes insurance cover. The differences that matter in practice are location and opening hours, not price.

Where the useful locations are

Cluster one is around the Renfe station and Avenida de Salamanca, useful if you are catching a train or the airport bus later.

Cluster two is the centre and Explanada, near the port — the right choice if your afternoon is Tabarca, the castle or the old town. A third group sits near the bus station.

What to check before booking

  • Closing time. The single most common problem: the shop shuts before your flight.
  • Opening on Sundays. Many partner businesses close, and coverage thins out.
  • Bag size. Most sites charge per bag regardless of size, but oversized items can be refused.
  • Walking distance. Two hundred metres matters when you are dragging a suitcase in August.

Alternatives

Your hotel will almost always hold bags for free on checkout day, and often on arrival day too — ask before paying for storage. The airport has paid storage, but going back out there early only makes sense if you are already heading that way.

For a short gap of an hour or two, a café with your bag beside you is a perfectly reasonable answer; storage is for half-days and full days.
